In 2025, Stokes Valley FC and Taita College formed a partnership built on opportunity, community, and a shared love of football. As our club continued to grow, we approached the college about using their grounds for training. In return, we committed to supporting their football programme by providing gear, coaching, and a pathway for students to play both school and club football.
With College Football and Club Football now played on different days, students no longer had to choose between representing their school or their club—they can proudly do both. To make that pathway even stronger, Taita College students who played for their school were able to join Stokes Valley FC for free.
The impact of this partnership was immediate. In 2025, Taita College fielded a First XI for the first time in many years. The team not only came together with pride and determination—they went on to finish second in the Year 11 Championship Final, claim their first College traditional win at Stratford, and earn the prestigious Team of the Year award at Taita College Sports Prizegiving - the first time in 20 years that a football team has won that award. Their success highlighted exactly what collaboration, support, and shared values can achieve.
In 2026, we are excited to return for a second year and continue building on this momentum. We’re currently gathering student sign‑ups to help the college plan for the season ahead—whether that means a Boys First XI, a Girls First XI, a mixed team, or even multiple squads as interest grows. The programme is open to all year levels, and we’re committed to helping every student who wants to play find their place on the pitch.
This partnership is more than shared facilities—it’s about creating pathways, growing the game, and supporting young people to thrive in football and beyond.
