Juniors

General Information

Stokes Valley Junior Football caters for children between the ages of four and fourteen, competing in the Capital Football Hutt Valley Junior Grades and Girls Only Grade.

Games are played on Saturday mornings throughout the Hutt Valley (JPL/Promo grades play in the greater Wellington region) with most teams having mid-week training sessions. Home games are held at Delaney Park or one of the local schools. The season runs from April to the end of August. Registrations are in February to allow teams and coaches to be sorted and practice started in March.

Whole of Football and SV

First Kicks – is for our 4-6 years olds and will be played on Saturday mornings from 8:30am at Tawhai School. We could also combine with Naenae Club to play at the same time so may mean travelling to Naenae Park sometimes (see the arrangement with Fun Football).

Fun Football – is our 7-8 year olds or 7th and 8th Grades and they will play their games together on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11am (straight after First Kicks). Our club will be combining the games with Naenae Club 7th and 8th Grades to provide the variety of teams to play. Games are at Tawhai School one week, Naenae Park second week and the third week will be a Fesitval day which means playing against another club (home or away). Then the cycle begins again. The game format will be 4×10 min games against 4 different teams each game day. See here for more information.

Mini Football – is our 9-10 year olds or 9th and 10th Grades. These grades will still play in the Hutt Valley leagues (like last season) except they will play 2×25 minute games (against two different teams) on a Saturday as opposed to playing 1x50minute games against one team. See here for more information.
